The Things We Do For Love

Image
We attempted to see Santa on a Thursday night but the line was so long & since it was a school night we bagged it. We promised my daughter we would return Friday after school and we did just that. We waited in line for about 20 minutes, only to find out that he was scheduled to go to dinner in 5 minutes. So we waited, and waited, and waited. So to pass the time, we people watched & took some pictures. But the 2 1/2 hour wait was priceless.

It's Greek to Me

So my son comes home with his playbook for football. Oh how cute. Yeah right, in the middle of the afternoon he said "Coach told us we have to know all the positions on each play." Say what? Your asking the wrong person to review this with you honey! It might as well been written in Hebrew. Oh the joys of being a football mom.

Are You Ready for Some Football?

Image
Are you ready for some football? We are around here. Football practice started Monday & is kicking into high gear. This is our first season for youth football. I'm sure that it will be very interesting. What a work out these boys get. This is exactly what he needs. He has so much energy & needs to release it on someone other than his sister.

Feel Good Moment

Image
I had the opportunity of a life time. For three consecutive years in a row, I worked as the school nurse at the school my children attend. It started out just as a substitute position until the regular school nurse returned from a back injury. Turned out that I spent three years as the full time school nurse. I always hoped that I could have a positive impact on just one child. Well that hope became reality. Yesterday, I was approached by a mother & girl scout leader. She informed my that the fifth grade girls wanted me to talk to them about the sensitive topic of puberty. The girls approached her with the request. Unfortunately do to time restraints & busy schedules, I was unable to do this for these girls. This is a moment that live on in my heart & mind forever.

Happy Birthday Son

Image
Today, my son turns 11. Where does the time go? This is a picture I will cherish forever. He has never expressed disbelief about Santa. I think he may be humoring me knowing, it would break my heart. Happy Birthday son & God bless you! Love, Mom & Dad

I can't describe the look on my daughter's face when she saw the castle for the first time.

Sidewalk Talk

Image
I was a deprived child. I was never allowed to have fun with chalk & write on the sidewalk. Come on mom, it's not like it's graffiti & won't come off. Just one good rain & POOF, it's gone. As a mom I know what fun it is to just go CRAZY with chalk. This is what happened when I gave my daughter her chalk. Okay, so she spelled welcome wrong but you get the idea that she is welcoming you to our home. Creative, don't ya think?

Happy Mother's Day

It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you- the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious to God. 1 Peter 3:3-4 N C V

Blessings From Above

This weekend marks a landmark in my life as a parent. My daughter, my baby, made her First Holy Communion. I now feel that we are complete as a family when we go to church. She now can accept the body & blood of Christ with us. God Bless you my precious baby & may he keep you safe.

From CCD to Soccer

Image
Up at 7am. Hop into the shower. Made coffee. Can't start the mornings without it. Check email. Wake son up at 8 am. Put a flame under his butt to get ready for Stations of the Cross practice at 9 am. Drop him off. Come home. Get the Diva ready for CCD & soccer. Take Diva to CCD all dressed for soccer. Come home & pack every ones soccer equipment. Tired already. 10:50 am off to see CCD Stations of the Cross. Pull Diva from her CCD class so dad can take her for pictures. Watch son's performance. Pick up son after Stations & help him get dressed in the car for soccer. Walk down to field. Son's turn for pictures. Watch some of daughter's soccer game. Run to other side of field to watch son play. Run back to other side of field to catch daughter's game. Daughter's game over. Back to other side of field to watch the rest of son's game. Finally! Games over. Each child scored 2 goals. Daughter's team lost by 1. Son's team undefeated. Whew!! Time ...

To Compete or Not to Compete

My daughter started gymnastics about a month ago. I went in completely blind. We started at the basic level. Her teacher informed me yesterday that she feels that she is ready to move up. I smiled. She told me to move her up to Pre-Team. This is happening so fast. Pre-Team is competitive. I'm not sure if I am ready to have her do this. I would love any input.
