January 30,2009 Wouldn't you love to get up & go to work, do a half ass job, not get fired when you are wrong & still get paid? Well this is how I felt Friday. Just a dusting to an inch. Well here is that inch.
I finally remembered to take my camera on our trip to Dave & Buster's. We celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday. Where do the years go? We had a great time. Came home with some great prizes. Not just junk, as we usually do. My son hit the jackpot when he won 1,000 tickets on his first try .
My daughter's birthday is approaching & we decided to bake our own cake. I am so tired of buying a cake from Giant Eagle & paying out the nose. I know the cake will be fresh & not pre-baked & frozen. We ordered an edible picture to use on the cake from Gogo Cakes. High School Musical of course . Picture taken Jan. 17, 2009
Yum. I just love Italian food. Was this one of my creations? Well, not yet. These are just the pictures on the front of my Italian Cookbook that my wonderful hubby as a Christmas Gift.
Last night just before bed, we received the call from the phone chain that there was a two hour delay. (Why can't there be a 2 year delay on their journey through life?) Excitment & joy filled the hearts of the kids. They woke up to see the "biggest snow fall of the year" according to my daughter. They are completely pissed at me now because they are forbidden to go out. The temperature here in the Burgh is about 14 degrees, not to mention the windchill factor. What part of NO don't you understand!
To regroup or not to regroup. That has been the ultimate question around here. It just seems that the kids today are learning things earlier than back in the old days. My daughter is in second grade & my God, the homework that she comes home with. PSSA prep! What the hell! This is something new this year. Already preparing for next year. Can't we just get through 2 nd grade & then learn how to take the PSSA in 3rd grade? But what do I know?
The kids were very disappointed that we didn't get the huge snow storm that the media played up. " Those liars." they both said. I didn't hear them complaining that CCD was cancelled Saturday. They made the most out of it yesterday.
This challenge is really becoming a challenge. Not a whole lot happens in my boring life. I get up. Go to work. Come home. Start dinner. Do homework. Clean the kitchen up. Throw in a load of laundry. Get the kids ready for baths & then bed. Then my bedtime. It's like everday is Ground Hog Day. I need a life.
My daughter & I went shopping at Filene's last night. Everything is on sale. I asked the cashier if they were closing. She replied that "Their not sure." Any how, we went looking for a new purse & I had my daughter pick a few out. Her choices were interesting. Not quite the style that I would have picked but I was feeling spontaneous. I did pick one that she picked out for me. It truely was a combination of the two of us. Jan. 4, 2009
My goal is to do the 365 day challenge. Take one picture a day & post it on your blog. No words are necessary, because a picture is worth a thousand words. Jan. 1, 2009
