10th Birthday Party for Girls

Image
We recently celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday with a sleepover. I was at a loss for things to keep them occupied. I managed to pull it off with great success. First we did hair wraps. This was my daughter's idea. At first I wasn't happy about it, I have never done a hair wrap in my life. But with a little research & some practice, it was a great success. Next on the agenda was to decorate their own pillowcases. We used fabric markers & just plain white standard size cases & the girls unleashed their creativity. Of course what party goes without food? The girls made their own mini pizza. I just used plain bread dough & made small pizza shells. The girls added their own toppings & then we baked. Next was the cake. For the love of soccer it was a soccer cake. It was of course homemade. To top off the night, the girls did a glow in the dark scavenger hunt with glow sticks. We turned out the lights only allowing night lights. The girls divi...

Happy Birthday Son

Today, my son turns 11. Where does the time go? This is a picture I will cherish forever. He has never expressed disbelief about Santa. I think he may be humoring me knowing, it would break my heart. Happy Birthday son & God bless you! Love, Mom & Dad

Celebrating Seuss

His name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, Dr. Seuss for short. It is this week that many schools celebrate Dr. Seuss week. How is your child's school celebrating? Our school is celebrating: Monday: Book Swap Tuesday: Drop everything & read Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday Thursday: Silly Sock Day Friday: Dr. Seuss Hat Day. What is your favorite Seuss Book? I would love to hear from you.

Happy 10th Birthday Son

It didn't bother me turning 41 this past year. But where have the years gone? Especially the past 10 years. I had my first child, a beautiful son. He has brought so much joy to our life, despite being 2 weeks late, a horrible rash from head to toe, 24 hours of labor & finally a C-section. I wouldn't trade it for the wo rld.

Over Run By Divas

The Birthday Girl The Divas The cake. The one I worked long & hard on. It was made from scratch. I'm talking everything except the edible picture. We sang, the candles were blown out, the cake was cut & distributed. Then the food critic voice her opinion loud & clear. "I don't like this cake." She set the trend for the rest of the group. They slowly brought their plates back to the table one after the other. It was like the march of the penguins. Who do they think they are Gordon Ramsey? I can only imagine what they are going to be like when they are older. Bridezillas look out! January, 31, 2009

Seeing Is Believing

I finally remembered to take my camera on our trip to Dave & Buster's. We celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday. Where do the years go? We had a great time. Came home with some great prizes. Not just junk, as we usually do. My son hit the jackpot when he won 1,000 tickets on his first try .

Birthday Prep

Image
My daughter's birthday is approaching & we decided to bake our own cake. I am so tired of buying a cake from Giant Eagle & paying out the nose. I know the cake will be fresh & not pre-baked & frozen. We ordered an edible picture to use on the cake from Gogo Cakes. High School Musical of course . Picture taken Jan. 17, 2009

My Birthday Gift

Image
Just celebrated my 41st birthday 2 weeks ago. My wonderful hubby bought me an iPod Touch. I am loving life. I feel like a teenager again. Remember when you first got a walkman. It was the coolest. That's kinda how I feel now. I've been playing around with it & finally figured out how to add my cd's to it. Life is sweet! :)
