Feel Good Moment

I had the opportunity of a life time. For three consecutive years in a row, I worked as the school nurse at the school my children attend. It started out just as a substitute position until the regular school nurse returned from a back injury. Turned out that I spent three years as the full time school nurse.

I always hoped that I could have a positive impact on just one child. Well that hope became reality. Yesterday, I was approached by a mother & girl scout leader. She informed my that the fifth grade girls wanted me to talk to them about the sensitive topic of puberty. The girls approached her with the request. Unfortunately do to time restraints & busy schedules, I was unable to do this for these girls. This is a moment that live on in my heart & mind forever.

Living on a dead end street SUCKS! We are always the last for everything. Since we are currently snowed in, I had to tell the hospital that we will not be having mom's surgery tomorrow. Count Down to Vacation

The mood in my house this week is excitement. We all are preparing for our departure to Myrtle Beach. Call us crazy for driving. The 12 hour trip shouldn't be so bad, we are breaking it up over 2 days. Today we took a trip to the post office to stop the mail & then headed out to Walmart. Last minute things to pick up, like flip-flops for my son. He is into Ironman this year & found a pair of flip-flops with Ironman on them. "Mom, can I get them?" he asked. Of course he could get them. He couldn't find a pair in his size. Why? They don't make mens shoes with Marvel super heros. This is when reality set in. My baby is growning up toooooo fast.

Over Run By Divas

The Birthday Girl The Divas The cake. The one I worked long & hard on. It was made from scratch. I'm talking everything except the edible picture. We sang, the candles were blown out, the cake was cut & distributed. Then the food critic voice her opinion loud & clear. "I don't like this cake." She set the trend for the rest of the group. They slowly brought their plates back to the table one after the other. It was like the march of the penguins. Who do they think they are Gordon Ramsey?
